ISRO successfully launches ‘replacement’ navigation satellite

Local Navigation Satellite System-1I or IRNSS-1I from Satish Dhawan Space Center on Sriharikota Island.

The satellite was propelled with PSLV-C41 rocket at 0404 hrs. The IRNSS-1I will supplant the IRNSS-1A which was rendered ineffectual as the installed nuclear tickers had fizzled.

This is the second endeavor by ISRO to send a substitution satellite as on August 2017 the dispatch of IRNSS-1H fizzled.

The satellite is a piece of the star grouping of seven NavIC route satellite.

The reason for these IRNSS satellites is to make India’s own particular route framework which would be in the lines of US’ GPS or Global Positioning System.Read More
